Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: 7 April 2026

The short version: some links on this site earn us a small commission if you click and buy. It never costs you anything extra, and it never influences what we recommend.

What is an affiliate link?

An affiliate link is a tracked URL that tells a company you arrived from our site. If you go on to make a purchase or sign up for a service within a set window, we receive a small commission from the company — at no additional cost to you. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or go directly.

Where you'll find affiliate links on this site

The "What If?" section of our time calculator includes contextual suggestions — for example, recommending an audiobook app alongside a commuting time scenario, or a sleep tracking app in the sleep category. These suggestions may be affiliate links.

Some of our blog posts also contain affiliate links to products or services relevant to the topic being discussed.

Affiliate links are never disguised. Where a link is an affiliate link, we either label it or the context makes it clear it is a product recommendation.

Our affiliate partners

We work with or intend to work with the following affiliate programmes:

Does this affect our recommendations?

No. We only recommend products and services we believe are genuinely useful to our readers. The presence of an affiliate relationship does not influence our editorial decisions. We would rather recommend a better non-affiliate product than a worse one that pays us a commission.

Our primary goal is to give you accurate, useful information about how you spend your time. Affiliate income helps keep the site free and ad-light — it is not the reason we make recommendations.

Display advertising

In addition to affiliate links, this site may display advertisements through Google AdSense or similar networks. These are clearly marked as advertisements. We do not control which specific ads are shown, but we have configured our ad settings to prioritise relevance to our audience.

Compliance

This disclosure is made in compliance with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) guidelines, and the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA).
